Why does everyone in 11th run for non-medical and medical? Why are arts thought of as weak students?

Yes, coming from a non-medical background, I can understand. However, it is untrue that arts is just for poor kids, since many toppers, by which I mean children who score 97 percent in class 10, study arts in 11 and then go on to top the school in class 12. If you want to be a hotel marketer, a lawyer, or a government servant, for example, the humanities path is recommended. Because it will assist you in the future.
