Peng Liyuan Urges More Support For Girls' Education

President Xi Jinping's wife, Peng Liyuan, has encouraged the international community to pay more attention to and support the advancement of girls' and women's education in order to help achieve the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Peng made the comment while attending the UNESCO Prize for Girls' and Women's Education via video connection on Friday. She is also the UN Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization's special ambassador for the promotion of girls and women's education.

While the COVID-19 pandemic is having a particularly negative impact on girls and women, Peng emphasized in a speech that it is critical to pool resources and take targeted, effective actions to help them receive an equitable and quality education
