Facebook Reveals Most-seen Posts Are Inane Questions, Not Politics
Sat Aug 21, 2021 4:58 am
Following accusations of distributing right-wing propaganda, Facebook has disclosed that one of its most popular postings is a question on whether sugar goes with pasta.
Its first-ever report on the contents of people's news feeds in the US focuses on the number of people who see a post rather than any other metric.
It shows that for three months in 2021, a phrase search promising to disclose "your reality" was the most popular post.
The top 20 were mostly made up of similarly frivolous inquiry posts with large wording.
"Could you perhaps settle this disagreement about whether or not sugar belongs in spaghetti?" With 58.6 million views and 3.8 million comments, it came in fourth place.
